BTGCP Celebrates 11 More College Bound Seniors

Bridge the Gap College Prep (BTGCP) has been providing comprehensive academic, social, and emotional support in Marin City for 24 years, with the goal that every Marin City child completes high school and graduates from college.

Eleven high school seniors were recently honored, all of whom are graduating from high school in June and heading to college in the fall. This is the seventh year in a row in which 100% of BTGCP’s seniors have graduated and enrolled in college, with one serving in the U.S. Marines.

Five of the 11 seniors will be attending the College of Marin. The other six seniors will be attending the University of California at Merced, Hampton University, California State University at Fullerton, Bethune-Cookman University, Sacramento State University, and San Francisco City College.

Each graduate will be receiving a BTGCP scholarship from $1,000 to $1,500 thanks in part to a generous grant from the Haughton Family Charitable Fund.

BTGCP is enormously proud of these hardworking students who have overcome significant socio-economic barriers to be where they are today. Many of them are first in their families to attend college.  It would not be possible without our mighty community of donors, volunteers, and partners who come together to advance educational equity in this community.

A recent video by renowned film maker Tylor Norwood called “Bridges to Hope” which captures the impact of Bridge the Gap College Prep’s mission, can be found at
