(New York Times) – After stepping down as United States attorney general, Eric H. Holder Jr.’s return to private practice will be to a familiar place.
Mr. Holder is coming back to the law firm Covington & Burling as a partner, six years after becoming the top law enforcement official for the Obama administration.
The move to Covington, where he previously worked for clients that included UBS and Chiquita Brands, was expected. He will be based in the firm’s Washington office to focus on investigations and complex lawsuits, the firm said in a news release.
He first joined Covington in 2001 as a partner, after serving as deputy attorney general in the Clinton administration. He later became involved in President Obama’s election campaign and was confirmed as attorney general in the spring of 2009.
