An Inviting Summary of UCCE Marin’s Exploits

Instead of a written annual report on paper, the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) team in Novato has created an online “story map” that capsulizes its ongoing programs and key 2018 accomplishments in an inviting and interactive way.

The UCCE/Marin County Farm Advisor’s Office is one of the County of Marin government’s 23 departments, operating through a partnership with the County, the UC system, the federal government and private funds. Its mission is to sustain a vital agriculture, environment, and community in Marin by providing UC research-based information in agriculture, natural resource management, nutrition, and youth development.

The story map presentation allows a viewer to investigate the department’s accomplishments by choosing project locations on a map, scrolling through photos, reading the short narratives, and linking to external websites for more information. Among the topics covered in the report are:

The UCCE/Farm Advisor offers free subscriptions to several e-newsletters and runs the Master Gardeners program for Marin.
