African Dance and Drum Circle at Rocky Graham Park
Sharika Gregory urged the community to come and “be engulfed by the resounding, rhythm of restoration and healing as we dance to shatter dissension, communal tension and move into new dimensions of communal and individual wellness.”

Sharika G & Transcending Arts presents an event “Building Healthy Relationships and Community Through African Dance and Drum Circle” on Saturday, February 26 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. It will take place at the Rocky Graham Park, 850 Drake Ave. in Marin City.
Kokayi Bakari Postell, cultural dance instructor, and Jaimeo Brown, who has drummed for Stevie Wonder, Carlos Santana, and Q-Tip, will be there. Special thanks for Griot Theater Co. and Baha’is of Marin.
But more than a dance, they are “Building community trust through rhythm and dance,” Sharika Gregory said.
In a statement, she urged the community to come and “be engulfed by the resounding, rhythm of restoration and healing as we dance to shatter dissension, communal tension and move into new dimensions of communal and individual wellness.”
Communal dance will “thus, posture us to build bridges of trust as we dance with mutual admiration, for communal elevation as human reverberations of transformation,” she concluded.
