The Inclusivity Project and Oakland African American Chamber of Commerce Host “Capital Summit” Benefitting 150 Local Businesses

On July 12, the Oakland African American Chamber of Commerce (OAACC) and The Inclusivity Project hosted the Capital Summit featuring 19 panelists at the Trans Pacific Centre in Oakland. According to organizers, “the Capital Summit was designed to connect small businesses with lenders and provide insider information and tips from funders that will encourage steps for growth and advancement.”

On July 12, the Oakland African American Chamber of Commerce (OAACC) and The Inclusivity Project hosted the Capital Summit featuring 19 panelists at the Trans Pacific Centre in Oakland.

According to organizers, “the Capital Summit was designed to connect small businesses with lenders and provide insider information and tips from funders that will encourage steps for growth and advancement.”

“We had industry leaders from banks, CDFIs, and other community organizations that helped us better understand the lending process as well as the resources available to small business owners,” said Cathy Adams, President & CEO of OAACC. “We want our businesses to survive.”

OAACC, a non-profit organization established in 2003, says its mission it to advance economic opportunity and strengthen Oakland’s Black business community.

OAACC provides its members numerous services, including access to workshops, access to capital, business development opportunities and advocacy, as well as business advisement.

The Inclusivity Project is a collaboration of Small Business Development Council (SBDC) and the Black and the African American chambers who are working together to provide the training and expert business advising to foster longevity and economic viability for Northern California’s Black and African American entrepreneurs and their businesses.
