SolTrans System-Wide Service Improvements and Summer Slice

Published

on

Over the past two years, SolTrans has worked with the community and partner agencies to reimagine public transportation in Vallejo and Benicia through the 2018 Comprehensive Operational Analysis (COA). The COA led to two-phases of changes for the Routes 1 thru 8, 20 and General Public DialA-Ride service, with the first phase going into effect on Sunday, June 30, 2019.

In Phase I of the COA, the local routes have been updated to reflect travel needs for riders and to allow for faster and more efficient trips in Vallejo. Routes 1, 2, 3, 7A and 7B will provide 30-minute frequency throughout Vallejo, and Routes 1 and 2 will provide coordinated, 15-minute frequency along Sonoma Boulevard from Valle Vista Avenue to Mini Drive. In addition, the new Routes 7A and 7B will provide bidirectional, east-west connections through central Vallejo and major transit destinations.

In September 2019, a second phase of improvements will extend all weekday local route service to 9:00 p.m. In addition, the Route 20 and Benicia General Public Dial-A-Ride will be replaced with a subsidized Lyft program. The subsidized Lyft program will expand both the service area and service hours in Benicia, allowing for more flexibility when traveling around Benicia.
