OCCUR and the San Francisco Foundation FAITHS Program, A Model Built on Faith, will present the second in the 2017 series of free capacity building workshops designed for faith-based organizations and other nonprofits on Thursday, March 23.

The workshop, “Program Planning and Evaluation Essentials –A Hands-On Learning Lab,” will be an interactive session in which nonprofit leaders and staff will learn the essential program planning and evaluation methods. Participants will work in small groups to apply the planning strategies they’ve learned.

The three-hour session will be taught by Professor Marsha Maloof of Pendergrass and Associates Consulting. Maloof, who is returning to the series by popular demand, will specifically focus on the critical importance of planning and evaluation in order to achieve optimal community impact.

“Solid program design and evaluation are also keys to crafting strong proposals and attracting funders,” says Professor Maloof. “If your organization is struggling to find the funding you need to implement key community programming, start with Program Planning and Evaluation.”

“This type of training is usually only open to university students,” says Carmen Bogan, Model Built on Faith Program Director.  “Thanks to funding from the San Francisco Foundation, we’re able to bring it to faiths and other nonprofit leaders from across the Bay Area – for free.”

RSVP online, email occur@sbcglobal.net or  call (510) 839-2440.

The workshop is from 9 a.m. – Noon (check in 8:30am) and is located at the new OCCUR office, 360 14th St., Suite 100, Oakland.
