Councilperson Desley Brooks and Sports Agent Aaron Goodwin are looking for 100 young people to join them for an afternoon of Holiday Cheer at their 6th Annual Holiday Party. Each youth will also receive a $50 gift card.

Each nominated child must be between the ages of 7 and 15 years of age, living in Oakland and attending an Oakland school.

Brooks said, “Although there are no income restrictions, preference will be given to children whose parents are experiencing economic challenges.”

Those who nominate a child are asked to write letters explaining why the child should be selected to participate. The letters should contain the name, address, phone number and age of the nominee and of a parent or guardian.

All documentation must be received no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11. Only complete submissions will be reviewed. Instead of phone calls, letters should be sent to Hon.
