Downtown Oakland Business Wins ‘Best of Oakland” Award
Underground Treasures has won the 2013 Best of Oakland Award in the Women’s Clothing Stores category by the Oakland Award Program.
Underground Treasure offers one-of-a kind apparel and accessories from around the world.
The Oakland Award Program annually honors the achievements and accomplishments of local businesses throughout the area. Recognition is given to those companies that have shown the ability to use best practices and implemented programs to generate competitive advantages and long-term value.
“I was so shocked because I didn’t see it coming,” said Eltyna McCree, owner of Underground Treasures.
Owner of a business in downtown Oakland for more than 35 years, she says the recognition could not come at a more appropriate time as she is celebrating 20 years in the clothing business.
“I am extremely overwhelmed at this enormous honor,” she added.
Underground Treasures has been identified by the award program as a business that has achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. The retailer enhances the positive image of small business through service to customers and the community.
Winners are chosen based on the information gathered both internally by the Oakland Award Program and data provided by third parties.
