College Square Shopping Center Transformation
College Square Shopping Center, located at Pershing Avenue and March Lane, is 37-years old and beginning to show its age. But the 126,000 square feet of storefronts will soon receive a face-lift.
Plans include a new color scheme, parking lot resurface, upgraded modern lighting, extensive landscaping, and tenant improvements. By the end of 2014, this popular Stockton shopping center will look brand new.
College Square, better known as the Mervyn’s shopping center since it was the anchor store, before closing in 2008. Since then, the shopping center has been challenged with vacancies. But in 2012, it began to turn around with the addition of Hobby Lobby and then Planet Fitness in 2013.
There are plenty of shopping and dining opportunities for the on-the-go student to the busy professional. Additional stores include Office Depot, Big 5 Sporting Goods, Outback Steakhouse, Baskin Robbins, Tepa Taqueria, and many more. Today, College Square is 90 percent occupied.
