An eerie message from Martin Luther King Jr. from 56 years ago today on October 27, 1964, has been found. The message sounds remarkably relevant to today’s election.
According to Executive Director Roy Wilson, Ed. D at the Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Center, the video was recently found after intense research by his colleagues at the Martin Luther King Jr. Research and Education Institute at Stanford University. It was filmed in Compton, California, one week before the 1964 elections which were also to be held on a Tuesday, November 3, 1964.
“Suffice it to say we stand in one of the most momentum periods of human history,” King said at the beginning of the video. He continues, “and in these days of emotional tension when the problems of the world are gigantic in extent and chaotic in detail, all men of good will must make the right decisions.”
