Jacquelyn Klinger & Stefan Voge chalked their way into First-Place at the Chalk Art Contest during the Chocolate and Chalk Art Festival in North Berkeley on Father’s Day weekend. They created a beautiful Medusa-like goddess emanating light from her torso entitled, Light Within.
The Second-Place winner was Sam Spevack’s Violin #2, from which one could almost hear musical color emanating from the concrete.
An artist from the ACCI Gallery, Victoria Bloedau, came in Third with a thematic work entitled, Know Your Cocoa. Eleven other works were included as Runner’s Up, 37 additional works of chalk art were awarded Honorable Mentions, and 28 young participants were given Youth Mentions.
