The Black Community Crusade (BCC) will hold its monthly town hall meeting at the New Missionary Baptist Church, 1439 Michael Ave on April 24 from 6-8pm to discuss the city’s educational achievement gap.

The BCC advocates for African Americans in Stockton seeking to impact areas of education, employment, crime prevention, and politics.

The meeting will engage community members in a candid conversation about statistics that portray Black kids as illiterate.

“We strive to actually start making some progress with education and to gain awareness of the issues that we face,” said Jerron Jordan, who co-chairs the BCC with Councilman Michael Tubbs.
