San Francisco, CA –  The news came just less than 24 hours after closer Hunter Strickland blew his fourth save of the season,.  Another injury and another blow to the Giants roster.  Strickland will be out six to eight weeks after punching a door after last night’s 4-2 loss against the Marlins.

“The closer has got to have emotional control,” Bochy said.  “We all get frustrated and that’s a tough loss and a gut-wrenching loss.  I’m sure he felt full responsibility.  He didn’t think before it happened.  I’m thoroughly disappointed, trust me.  I’m crushed, because this guy has grown as a pitcher and a person.  I know Hunter cares deeply.”

Strickland actions cost him some much needed time off to handle his emotions.  With the number of injuries that has plagued this team thus far, it’s beyond disappointing.  Everyone plays an important part of this team and Strickland’s explosive behavior got him on the disable list with a fractured right pinkie.

Strickland’s posted a message to his Instagram:
