The San Pablo Planning Commission on June 25 approved plans to build a fast food restaurant building with a drive through facility at the corner of San Pablo Avenue and San Pablo Dam Road, within the parking lot shared by Planet Fitness and FoodMaxx.

The plans have Guatemalan fast-food restaurant chain Pollo Campero leasing the building, which will take up 2,619-square-feet of the parking lot. Save Mart Supermarkets owns the property.

The project includes landscaping improvements, such as new trees and flowering shrubs, and outdoor seating for up to six tables and 20 seats.

The Planning Commission approved a conditional use permit to allow for the drive through facility, as well as a major design review for the creation of the building itself.
