More than 55 employers participated in the East Bay Job Fair & Expo on Dec. 2, at the RingCentral Coliseum. This event was made possible because many dedicated volunteers from Oakland’s non-profit organizations worked behind the scenes to make the job fair happen.

“When partners work together with employers it means that unemployed residents of the City of Oakland Residents can be employed,” Germaine Davis, the Oakland Private Industry Council organizer of the Job Fair said.

The Oakland Private Industry Council, Inc., Alameda County Social Services Agency, Oakland Housing Authority, RingCentral Coliseum and the Roots Community Center together made it possible for hundreds to get hired.

Dozens who filled out applications are still hopeful to fill many vacant positions with employers. The PIC, Oakland Post and the AASEG (African American Sports and Entertainment Group) will join Councilmember Noel Gallo to co-sponsor another Job Fair in the 5th Council District in 2022. The shared goal is to find 30,000 jobs for Oakland residents.
