Oakland Civic Pride Presents Civic Awards Gala, Oct. 19
Oakland Civic Pride is presenting a Youth Ambassador Scholarship and Civic Awards Gala, Thursday, Oct. 19, 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Scott’s Seafood Restaurant in Jack London Square Oakland. Honorees are:
- Clem Daniels, Oakland Raiders, AFL Hall of Fame;
- Dr. Ramona Bishop, Superintendent (retired);
- Honorable Wilfred T. Ussery, BART Board (retired);
- Honorable Sandré Swanson, Assembly Member (retired);
- Odest Logan, Spurred Up!, Executive Director;
- Alphonso “Gift” Harris, Community Advocate;
- Eugene Kang, Director, Cycles of Change;
- Pastor Yemi Oyinkansola, Antioch House, Antioch;
- Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Center;
- Alameda County Teachers of the Year.
