Hearts & Tails at Micke Grove, February 14

Published

on

This Valentine’s Day, share your love for wildlife by adopting an animal in your Valentine’s name.

Available for purchase at MGZOO.COM through February 14, Micke Grove Zoo is offering a sweet $25 “Zoo Parent” adoption package festively geared towards the big day of love. These special packages will also be available for purchase at Micke Grove Zoo during its Hearts and Tails: Wild Love Stories event occurring February 14 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Some of cupid’s critters available for adoption include the “The Sassy Sweetheart” (snow leopard), “The Balding Beauty” (Waldrapp ibis), “The Forever Flame” (Madagascar hissing cockroach), and “The Lovely Lady” (yellow-knobbed curassow). Male and female animals of many other species are available to adopt as part of this offer and throughout the year.

Each adoption package includes a personalized certificate with a photo of the adopted animal, species fact sheet, recognition for a full year in the zoo, and recognition at the adopted animal’s exhibit during Valentine’s Day weekend. All adoption purchases support the Micke Grove Zoological Society, a nonprofit serving to enhance the Micke Grove Zoo.

By attending Micke Grove Zoo during its Hearts and Tails: Wild Love Stories event, families and love birds alike can participate in a self-guided tour and discover the different wild romances of the animal kingdom. Participants move from exhibit to exhibit learning about unique animal rituals such as coupling, mating, and parenting. Guests can also vote for their favorite animal love story with donations made in support of the Zoo’s conservation education programs. This event is free with Zoo admission.

Individuals are encouraged to purchase their Valentine’s Day “Zoo Parent” packages by February 4 to ensure delivery by Valentine’s Day.

Micke Grove Zoo is located within Micke Grove Regional Park at 11793 N. Micke Grove Road in Lodi. Zoo admission is $5 for individuals 14 and up, $3 for children 3-13, and free for children 2 and under and members of the Micke Grove Zoological Society.
