Oakland trybe, the Oakland Gumbo Cultural Group, R.O.C.’S, Restore Our City Services, the (AASEG) African American Sports & Entertainment Group and Carter Block Entertainment Group are giving away backpacks filled with school supplies, over 800 hot meals catered by Yaphet Santanta, Cim Houng and the Lil Bigg Eazy Sidewalk Cafe.
They are also giving Costco food such as luncheon meat cheeses, bread, chips, healthy fruits, vegetables and snacks to help families prepare healthy school lunches for youth in need.
There will be resource tables and facilitators to help with rent assistance, PG&E bills, water bills, mortgages, real estate, credit repair, vocational training schools and job opportunities with job recruiters, future job fair dates and free haircuts for youth and adults, also hair stylist for girls, teens and adult women from Black stylists, Latinx and Asian barbers and stylists.
Also, fun carnival games and prizes, popcorn, snow cones, cotton candy, jumpers, a worship service, motivational speakers and more and all on Sunday Aug.8th 2021 between 12 noon and 7pm.
