The CEO tells the Post that, “nominations for the 2017 Civic Award for Distinguished Community Service are being accepted now through Sept. 25 and that the categories include: Individuals, Educators, Community Organizations, Public Agencies, Businesses and Elected/Public Officials.
Nominations are easy, and can be completed online at www.civicpride.net. Recipients will be honored at this year’s ‘Youth Ambassador Scholarship & Civic Awards Gala’ at Scott’s Restaurant in Oakland on Thursday, October 19, 2017.
According to Tolbert, “since 1992, Civic Pride, INC, an Oakland-based volunteer nonprofit organization, has recognized local civic pioneers, socially responsible businesses, public agencies and community organizations making a difference in communities throughout the Bay Area”.
