Chaney Turner Elected New Chairman of Oakland Cannabis Regulatory Commission

On April 5, 2021, the Oakland Cannabis Regulatory Commission unanimously voted to elect Chaney Turner to serve as its chairman.

On April 5, 2021, the Oakland Cannabis Regulatory Commission unanimously voted to elect Chaney Turner to serve as its chairman. Turner was born and raised in Oakland, is an entrepreneur, organizer, and equity thought leader, and founded “Town Biz Oakland” and “The People’s Dispensary” in 2016.

Via Facebook, Turner said:  “I want to thank my colleagues for their support. I also want to especially thank my dear friend & former Chair, Lanese Martin, for her leadership, hard work and the transformative framework she built during her time on the commission. I’m highly honored to accept this role and to continue serving the people of Oakland.”
