Canvassing Begins for City Initiatives on Rent Protection, Police Commission, $20 Minimum Wage
The Oakland Justice Coalition has announced that petitioning will begin Saturday, April 2 on three ballot measures for the November elections.
The three initiatives are the Protect Oakland Tenants Initiative, sponsored by Oakland Tenants Union and the Citywide Development Network; a charter amendment to create a police commission, sponsored by the Coalition for Police Accountability; and a measure to establish a $20 minimum wage by 2020.Canvassing will begin next Saturday at 11 a.m.at the West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project at 349 Mandela Parkway in West Oakland.
