Bill Cosby on ‘GMA’: ‘I have been in this business 52 years and I’ve never seen anything like this.’
Emily Yahr, THE WASHINGTON POST
(The Washington Post) — Though “Good Morning America” promoted an exclusive interview with Bill Cosby where the embattled 77-year-old comedian would respond to the dozens of sexual assault allegations against him for the first time, the actual clip was very brief.
ABC’s Linsey Davis met Cosby in Alabama, where he’s scheduled Friday to speak to high school students and join the Black Belt Community Foundation to raise awareness about underfunded schools in Selma. In a clip of the interview (more will air on “Nightline”), Davis said Cosby is “trying to change the narrative” and asked if he was worried that a young student would approach him and say they’ve heard he’s done “some bad things.”
“How will you answer them? If they are pressing you: ‘Are you guilty? Did you do it? Are allegations true?’” Davis asked. Cosby, accused of drugging and/or sexually assaulting more than two dozen women over decades, has previously said through lawyers that he is innocent. He’s never been criminally charged.
