The Berkeley Juneteenth Festival, held annually in south Berkeley’s five-block Alcatraz-Adeline corridor, is produced by the Berkeley Juneteenth Association.
This year’s festival will be held Sunday, June 21 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public features music, food and family entertainment.

The RD Bonds Main Stage is the “heart” of Juneteenth in Berkeley. The music incorporates the best of the African American experience: African drumming, jazz, blues, neo-soul, gospel, rhythm and blues, and reggae.
Local talents, like John Handy, Faye Carol and Pharoah Sanders have performed on this stage. In addition, the stage showcases up and coming acts, providing them with an opportunity to show their talents.
The Lothario Lotho Stage features specialty performances like dance, spoken word, fashion, and community performers.
Other activities include:
Health Screenings – Alameda County health agencies offer informational workshops and health screenings;
Two-on-Two Basketball Tourney;
Historical Exhibitions;
and, Art for Children – Fun activities will be coordinated by practicing artists.
VISION Magazine, a Berkeley Juneteenth souvenir publication sold on festival day, features highlights about the performers and artists and stories of interest to the community.
