runDisney’s 2019–2020 season offers a variety of themes, distances

ATLANTA VOICE — The 2019 – 2020 runDisney season is kicking off at Walt Disney World Resort with a series of four race weekends offering guests a variety of themed races and distances to challenge themselves over the next year.

Participants will have the unique opportunity to race through Disney Parks and Resorts, earn Disney-themed finisher medals, experience Disney’s world-famous entertainment and guest service and ultimately celebrate their accomplishments with a Disney vacation.

Have a passion for fitness, food and fun for the entire family?

The 2019 – 2020 runDisney season is kicking off at Walt Disney World Resort with a series of four race weekends offering guests a variety of themed races and distances to challenge themselves over the next year.

Participants will have the unique opportunity to race through Disney Parks and Resorts, earn Disney-themed finisher medals, experience Disney’s world-famous entertainment and guest service and ultimately celebrate their accomplishments with a Disney vacation.

Races vary in distance from a 5K (3.1 miles) to the 48.6-mile Dopey Challenge, completed by participating in every race during the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. The 2019 -2020 runDisney season will feature the following races:

• Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, Oct. 31 – Nov. 4

• Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, Jan. 8 – 12

• Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, Feb. 20 – 23

• Star Wars Rival Run Weekend, April 16 – 19

Coming up next weekend is the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, which celebrates its 10th anniversary at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

The race weekend kicks off with the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex where participating runners can pick up their race bib, shirt and gEAR bag.

Participants can also shop for official runDisney merchandise, enjoy unique food and beverage items, discover new fitness gadgets and more, including taking part in the Interactive Zone where runners and their guests can participate in complimentary yoga classes and other fun and informative sessions.

The first race begins on Friday with the Disney Fall Feast 5K. This year, participants will be running their way around the world at Epcot while celebrating characters from “The Jungle Book.” Then, for the first time in forever, runners will get to celebrate Sven and Olaf from “Frozen” during the Disney Wine & Dine 10K on Saturday.

On Sunday, the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon. Mickey Mouse and friends will host runners to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this tasty race.

Later in the evening, runners and spectators have been invited to attend the Post-Race Party at Epcot, with exclusive access to Global Marketplaces, select attractions and live entertainment.
