< p> The Best Picture win was its only award of the night. The other Best Picture – Drama nominees were “Captain Phillips,” “Gravity,” “Philomena” and “Rush.”
“12 Years A Slave” first debuted at the Telluride Film Festival in August and had its official premiere in September at the Toronto International Film Festival.
McQueen’s film, his third feature following “Hunger” and “Shame,” is a favorite to win Best Picture at the Academy Awards in March.
