The relay team of girls 8-years old and under of the East Oakland Track Group (EOTG) competed in the West Coast Amateur Athletic Union Junior Olympics Track & Field Meet last weekend in Reno, Nevada. The young girls placed first in the 4×100 relay and earned a gold medal.

Legendary Track Coach Willie White established the team in 2010. White’s track history includes competing in the 1960 Olympic Trials where he placed 6th in the 100m dash. He is also the only coach to have won both a men’s and women’s Track and Field State Championship in the same year while coaching at Berkeley High School in the 1980’s.
