I remember March 1963 when I, a 2nd Lieutenant, USAF, reported to Travis AFB, Fairfield, California, to my first active duty flying assignment. I retired 30 years later from the 349th Military Airlift Wing with 6,800 flying hours and 87 airlift missions in Vietnam.
In 1963, homes in the new development of Dover Terrace, Fairfield, were selling for $9,900 — $50 down for Veterans.
I often ask myself where the time went? Or the housing prices?
I am returning to Fairfield, this time representing the Post News Group.
We publish nine newspaper mastheads that are circulated throughout the Great San Francisco Bay Area.
Our newest addition to our portfolio is the Solano County-Fairfield Post beginning January 2024.
The focus of this new edition is to bring the county’s message and purpose to our readership. We hope that our coverage will advance the understanding of the county’s vision and elevate the quality of life in the county.
