Dedicated to revitalizing historic downtown Richmond as a pedestrian-friendly urban village, the Richmond Main Street Initiative will host the Spirit & Soul Festival on September 16th. The event offers Richmond residents an opportunity to celebrate the city’s rich and diverse heritage The Festival will include two main stages for live musics, , a Youth Zone, and prize drawings.
The main stage will showcase live music performances by Rhonda Benin, Yates brothers & Sisters, and the 1st Venue Band, which will offer a musical tribute to Prince. San Francisco News Anchor Dan Ashley and PUSH will also perform classic rock tunes. The 12th street stage will present performances from R&B vocalist Shari, Ronnie Mills, and RYSE Youth Center performers.
Food vendors include CJ’s BBQ & Fish, Taqueria Esperanza, We Be Poppin’ Kettle Corn, and Yo Mana’s Old Fashioned Teacakes. Local artisans and merchants will also be on site to showcasing, jewelry clothing, candles, art and more. A beverage pavilion will feature offerings from Main Street Margaritas, East Brother Brewing, Benoit Casper, R&B Cellars.
Hosted on MacDonald Avenue between Harbour Way and 13th Street, the Festival will take place from 1pm to 5 p.m. Admission is free, but special “VIP experience” tickets are available, $20 advance, and $25 at the door.
