PG&E has partnered with faith leader Dr. Lawrence VanHook of The Community Church in Oakland to offer low-income households extensive discounts on their energy bills.
Some residents will auto matically qualify if they participate in public assistance programs like Medicaid/ Medi-Cal, Women Infants and Children, National School Lunch Program, Food stamps, and many more.
Immigration status does not affect eligibility, and no social security number is required. The program is seeking professionals who are fluent in English and Spanish, or Tagalog, or Cantonese, or Mandarin, to help the project reach communities in need. The role includes promoting PG&E awareness initiative; conducting focus, training, and community events; tract and report data monthly; and participating in advance training and team meetings.
Through this program, PG&E aims to conduct outreach to diverse, hard-to-reach communities through trusted community partners.
