Community Support Awareness to Value Energy (SAVE), a faith-based organization in Oakland, has been selected by Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) to participate in a pilot project to help raise awareness of financial-assistance programs available to customers. This includes California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) and Family Electric Rate Assistance (FERA), programs that help customers get a monthly discount on gas and electricity bill.
Led by Rev. Dr. Lawrence VanHook, Community SAVE is a non-profit that serves the needs of the hard to reach population and disenfranchise communities of Alameda County.
