The Coronado Neighborhood Council held it’s 37th Annual Scholarship Banquet Friday, Oct. 24 at the Galileo Club in Richmond.
Three hundred people attended the event. Nine students received scholarships for a total of $18,000.
Verbin Young III, received the J&O scholarship for $1,000; Derek Jackson the Richmond Food Center Scholarship for $1,000; Imani Sanders the Levin Terminal Scholarship for $1,000; Nikos VanHook the Sims Metal Scholarship for $1,000; and Teonna Thompson the Richmond Sanitary Scholarship for $1,500.
Other winners were Heather Ford, who received the D.P. Security Scholarship for $2,000; Hazel Jones the Mechanics Bank Scholarship for $2,500; LaVontae Renee Hill the Chevron Scholarship for $4,000; and Brandon Evans the Chevron Scholarship for $4,000.
