NEW YORK (The New York Daily News) — The head of a black business organization wants Mayor de Blasio to park his plan to cap new Uber cars.
U.S. Black Chambers CEO Ron Busby in a letter to the mayor last week said the proposed one-year restriction on new black and livery cars will put up a roadblock to job opportunities for New Yorkers of color in the outerboroughs.
“This would be the first time that city government would adopt a policy that would directly kill thousands of jobs for New Yorkers, especially in the communities for which you advocated,” wrote Busby, whose group represents 240,000 black-owned businesses.
