People’s Inter-cities Fellowship Church celebrated the 54th anniversary of Pastor Fred Small’s ministry Sunday, Dec. 9. Church members, friends and visiting ministers packed the church to celebrate the event.
Carol Randle recognized First Lady Evelyn Small for being a good wife to Pastor Small and as a wonderful role model for the church.
Church member Kenny Miles shared how Pastor Small has a presence in the church and can be serious when he needs to be, especially with the men’s group.
Ronnie Small, the pastor’s older son, said he cherishes the family life that exists at his parent’s home. “One of the greatest things I still cherish after all these years is to go to my father’s house every Sunday for dinner, watch the games, take naps,” he said. “When you come to the house you can feel comfortable. We are always together, that’s the best thing. Dad is our role model, friend, pastor and father.”
Dr. Emmanuel Akognon, pastor of Village Baptist Church and Pastor Small’s son-in-law, preached in his message, “Bowing down to Jesus,” that all true believing Christians will bow down to Jesus as the Son of God and as God Himself.
