Ray Carlisle, right, saluted Gay Plair Cobb, CEO of the Oakland Private Industry Council (PIC) for being the first non-profit organization to join the Oakland African American Chamber of Commerce. They discussed the similarities of Jamba Juice’s youth summer jobs and internships program with the efforts of the PIC’s program, which provides funding and technical assistance to Oakland’s non-profit and private sector employers. “The Chamber’s leadership in job promotion has been a valuable asset to Oakland. And with Mr. Carlisle’s leadership experience from serving as Chairman of the City’s Work Force Investment Board, he can bridge the economic and employment needs,” said Cobb.
