In the twilight of his career, former World Welterweight Champion Paul Nave, “The Marin County Assassin” of San Anselmo, will fight his last bout with crafty veteran “Jazzy” Justin Danforth from Milwaukee, Wisconsin at Albert Park Field in San Rafael.
The fight will be held 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19.
Danforth, a Native American who became a professional boxer in 1998, has fought the best in the Midwest. He began his professional career winning four of his first five bouts.
He has defeated and holds a win over a top fighter at the time (13-0), Mike Post of Ontario, Canada.
Laura Deanovic, a lightweight female from San Francisco, will fight a four-round rematch against Claudia Amaro of Fresno.
Ulises Soriano Jr., a lightweight from Richmond, will fight a four-round contest against James Johnson of Oakland.
Patrick Ragan, middleweight and gym owner of Westside Boxing Club in San Mateo, will make his pro debut at 47 years old in a four-rounder against John Dunham of Stockton.
Aldwayne Simpson, a welterweight from Richmond, will fight a four round bout at welterweight against Jovanni Rubio of Santa Rosa.
Also proposed for the card in a four round bout is lightweight Marquita Lee of Novato, against an opponent to be announced.
All bouts are subject to change and approval of the State Athletic Commission. The event will be presented by Liberty Boxing Enterprise. Tickets range from $40 to $200. Call (415) 454-1113 to reserve priority seating.
