    Ambassador Andrew Young will speak about the struggle to protect the right to vote, “The Time is Now: Our Legacy, Our Future,” 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20 in the Grand Ballroom, Oakland City Center Marriott, 1001 Broadway in Oakland. Admission is free.
    Young, a top aide to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., has served as Mayor of Atlanta for two terms, a U.S. Congressman and Ambassador to the United Nations. He is founding principal and chair of GoodWorks International, an organization that facilitates economic development in the Caribbean and Africa.
    The presentation is part of the Barbara Lee and Elihu Harris Speakers Lecture, co-produced by the Martin Luther King, Jr. Freedom Center, Merritt College and D.R. Roberts Events Management
