Haiti Action Committee Turns 20

The Haiti Action Committee is celebrating its 20th anniversary, 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 19 at Humanist Hall, 390 27th St. in Oakland.
The event will feature a speaker from the Haitian grassroots movement and a performance by Vukani Mawethu.
The organization was founded in 1992 to oppose the coup against President Jean-Bertrand Aristide and in solidarity with Fanmi Lavalas, Haiti’s popular democratic movement.
