Willard Middle School
Seeds of Change, maker of organically grown seeds and organic foods, has announced that Willard Middle School is among this year’s 16 Share the Good award recipients.
Willard will receive a $10,000 Share the Good grant to support community-based gardening and sustainable farming.
Share the Good is funded by the Seeds of Change “1% Fund,” the company’s commitment to donate one percent of net sales to community-based nutrition, gardening and farming programs.
Willard School and the other 15 organizations were selected from a pool of more than 700 applicants that applied through the company’s Facebook page. The award program, which is in its second year, has distributed nearly $300,000 to enhance the environmental, economic and social well being of gardens, farms, farmers and communities nationwide.
“It was inspiring, yet again, to see the incredible work being done to promote the seed-to-plate story, and we applaud all of our applicants on what they’re working to achieve,” said Tim Snyder for Seeds of Change. “These types of organizations are sometimes our children’s first introduction to nutrition, which is why we want to support as many of them as we can through Share the Good.”
